The chart at left shows who is skating on the tax levied on the other loan recipients as well as the tax on Cadillac health plans. After forcing the money on banks, they used the loans as excuses for expanding their theft-by-micromanaging-regulation scam. To whom are the mommy staters pandering? It looks a bit like a Chicago style vote buying deal.
Also in Chicago, O-buma and his merry band of thieves are trying to get the ShoreBank qualified for TARP welfare so that its operators can continue offer sub-prime loans to people who do not qualify for and cannot satisfy home mortgages. ShoreBank president Mary Houghton, mirroring the progressive (communist) philosophies of Saul Alinsky, claims that "white bankers need to be pressured" to cough up more money so that ShoreBank can continue to provide welfare housing for their permanent entitlement constituencies.
However, some members of the corporate world seem to be singing from a different page than the I'd-like-to-teach-the-world-to-sing crowd. When GE's CEO complained of federal regulatory heavy handedness, government censors leapt into the fray. This article states that "within hours" GE spontaneously and voluntarily released a statement disavowing their CEO's comments. Right, and no arm twisting from the oh so tolerant O-bumites. A government that is this desperate to hide such mundane expression must have much to hide.
As is the case for much, if not most, of progressives' and ecofascists' beliefs, there is little factually accurate and empirically valid evidence to corroborate them. The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is one such organization. They set about to refute the findings of scientists who have presented convincing evidence that the sun is the "primary driver of the earth's climate."
To do this, the UN offered a single scientist who cited a single paper that she had co-authored as sufficient evidence to refute studies showing that earth's climate mirrored the sun's output and that that output "at the end of the 20th century [was] the highest amount in at least 1000 years." Since we can do virtually nothing to change the sun, O-buma's bobble heads must be up to some other purpose than changing the climate. Wait, you don't think; could it be greed driving them to get their grubby little hands on some of the billions in tax dollars that the O-bumunistas are pouring down the rat hole of junk science?
The people who run the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) have been significantly narrowing the race and income academic achievement gap in the past four years. In their privately run charter schools, 90% of students are members of racial or ethnic groups, and 70% are from low income families.
Contrast the KIPP results to those produced by the government union national education collectives, and disenfranchising them starts to look attractive. Those bureaucracies are greatly bloated and increasing in size as enrollment dwindles. In New York between 2000 and 2008, 15,000 teachers were added while enrollment dropped by 121,000 students. This blatant featherbedding takes place at the expense of taxpayers.
This should be read in its entirety by anyone who would like to glimpse the breadth and scope of the failed experiment that is Team O-buma. For people who are purportedly quite intelligent, these simply cannot be serial, compound, abject, and unplanned failures. These must be intentional acts of sabotage.
Perhaps this is also true in the Gulf of Mexico since they despise business people in general and oil explorers in particular. Despite an unofficial news blackout from the Most Transparent Administration in History (muh-thuh), the story is being told of mismanagement, tardy and inept responses, unnecessary bureaucratic delays, and incompetence. Apparently this is what they meant when they said that "we are the ones we were waiting for."
