Gang O-buma: The Ruling Class Elite

Angelo M. Codevilla's article about America's ruling class offers insight into many of the country's ills and why solving problems at the national level is so difficult.  The current ruling class elites are resolute enemies of liberty.  That is, if liberty is the extent to which the lives of individuals are free from government interference.

The Corruptocrat's totalitarian mommy state is the enemy of liberty because, through it, they hope to establish complete control of virtually every aspect of life by unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats.  From Julius Seizure Genachowski's attempts to muzzle free speech on the Internet, to O-bumaCare's edict that all Americans must buy health insurance, to the Environmental Protection Agency's carbon propaganda intended to make our light bills skyrocket, there are regulations that control and manipulate nearly every aspect of Americans' lives.

Our ruling class's agenda is power for itself. While it stakes its claim through intellectual-moral pretense, it holds power by one of the oldest and most prosaic of means: patronage and promises thereof.

By taxing and parceling out more than a third of what Americans produce, through regulations that reach deep into American life, our ruling class is making itself the arbiter of wealth and poverty. While the economic value of anything depends on sellers and buyers agreeing on that value as civil equals in the absence of force, modern government is about nothing if not tampering with civil equality. By endowing some in society with power to force others to sell cheaper than they would, and forcing others yet to buy at higher prices -- even to buy in the first place -- modern government makes valuable some things that are not, and devalues others that are. Thus if you are not among the favored guests at the table where officials make detailed lists of who is to receive what at whose expense, you are on the menu. Eventually, pretending forcibly that valueless things have value dilutes the currency's value for all.

In his article “How to short circuit the ruling class,” author Wes Vernon poses an interesting question.  He wonders, [m]aybe we should have the right to elect (or defeat) the faceless bureaucrats who presume the right to dominate our lives. Why not?  After all, these people have anointed themselves with the power to create legislation arbitrarily, not merely taboos, or thou-shalt-nots that prohibit actions, but totems, or must-do orders that force kow towing to their supreme authority.

They are the segment of our population that presumes to set the limits of what Americans should be told, what issues are to be discussed (and which ones are to be ignored), the cultural tenor of the nation, what we can eat, what we can hear, what we can wear, what we can drive, and — what we can say.

This is why voters should have the right to vote them into and out of office.  Vernon offers a concise version of Dr. Codevilla’s message, he states, Basically, here's what the professor would say to the arrogant, faceless bureaucrats with ipso facto quasi-legislative or quasi-judicial powers as to how the rest of us are to live our lives: Let the voters decide whether you get to keep your job.

Bureaucrats are the hammer that fashions progressives’ totalitarian state.  In Investor’s Business Daily, an article titled “Obama’s ‘Progressive’ Failures” quotes the president bragging that he had enacted the most progressive legislative agenda in decades.  The article continues by describing the progressive philosophy such that it stresses the importance of centralized government control over Americans' lives as paramount. It actively seeks to diminish the constitutional limits on what government can — and can't — do.

It further exposes progressive totalitarianism by revealing that its [a]dherents understood that the idea of limited government based on individualism, natural rights and property rights — as defined by the Founding Fathers — had to be discredited.

It stood in the way of their social engineering agenda, which views patriotism as a danger, religion as a vice and constitutionalism as a mere historical tic to be eradicated.

In short, progressivism is a creed of Big Government — government with few checks and balances; government not of the people, by the people and for the people, but government of, by and for the special interests and elites that form the movement's backbone.

Senator Rand Paul has a plan to save taxpayers one-half a trillion dollars and significantly reduce the federal government’s footprint.  This article is required reading for lovers of liberty everywhere.

The elections in November, 2010, showed clearly that Americans want a live-and-let-live world in which liberty and free expression are championed and cherished.  We are chafing under the oppressive yoke imposed on us by The One and the other socialist-progressive ruling class elites.  It is time for the governed to seize the reins of government once again.  Remember the words of Barry Goldwater.  I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!

May your gods be with you.

Welfare by any Other Name

Once again, the O-bumites prove that they are too pusillanimous to bear being treated as they have treated others and that they offer a segregated and inferior collection of expectations and requirements as to the conduct and performance of people who qualify for affirmative welfare.

Maobuma's plan to save government union teachers' jobs will only cost taxpayers a mere $70,000 per job.  It seems as though the most effective way to combat this hustle is at the state level.  The theftocrats' generosity with other people's money is galling.  They are propping up these unions  with another $10 billion.

However, Democratic House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, to his credit, did cut out $800 million of a $4.3 semi-slush fund given to the educrats to "spend virtually any way" they want.  Obey was at odds with Department of Education Secretary Duncan that he was "offended that he only has $3.2 billion to pass around."  Life is tough for the SecEd.

One way to curtail out-of-control federal spending is to shift entitlements to the states so that the voters there can decide whether and to what extent they want to fund those programs.  This would offer an additional bonus. There would be fewer federal bureaucrats needed to track, account for, and spend the states' money.

The consequences of progressive/socialist/mommy state influences on federal policies and legislation are coming due.  Everyone in this country will bear the burden and some of us more than others.

The Obomunists are planning to stick it to the middle class taxpayers once again.  They are going to allow the Bush Tax Cuts to expire.  The article points out that "one lesson from Hoyer's tax assault on the middle class is that 'temporary' tax cuts face the chopping block, but 'temporary' tax increases live to be paid another day."

What a shock it is that Team O-buma is still at it lying, sneaking, and weaseling to increase the size of their welfare fiefdom.

The UN's Program of Action on Small Arms is embraced by the Obaaama sheeples.  It seems likely to conflict with both the First Amendment and Second Amendment.  In the first case, the program calls for a "reduction of violence in media and in video games" and sustained "efforts at re-education and reorientation of {member states'} citizens."  Chairman Mao's re-education camps are to be run by the UN.

Second, PoA parallels an Organization of American States agreement on illicit manufacturing of firearms that neologizes that term such that virtually every US gun owner would be required to acquire a manufacturing permit from the feds.  Good luck with that; ownership requires a manufacturing permit.  This typifies Backdoor O-buma's devious schemes.  He is planning to disarm Americans through compliance with a UN mandate and then blame it all on that pesky UN.

Evidence continues to accumulate that lowering tax rates increases revenue to government.  When rates are increased, revenues decrease.  The state of Oregon recently learned what history has already taught about Jack Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

O-buma and company seem to have tossed a bone to NASA.  Perhaps it is a meaty bone at that; we'll see whether this is genuine or just PR.

Look who's having labor problems.

May your gods be with you.

The O-buma Plan: Slouching Toward Mediocrity

O-buma and his ethical, intellectual, and ideological soul mates enjoy the benefits of affirmative welfare.  Specifically, they operate under a segregated and inferior collection of expectations and requirements as to their conduct and performance.  Because of the resultant entitlement mentality, they come to expect that they should have a permanent seat in the public wagon that is pulled by other members of society.

This article was written by an insider who is one of several attorneys who brought charges of voter intimidation against some New Black Panther thugs who were harassing voters in Philadelphia.  Just when it seemed that the Bum and his minions could not stoop any lower, Half-bright Holder, the titular head of the federal league of injustice, illegally (according to the article) ordered his own attorneys to dismiss the case against the Panther Punks.

This story should be held up to scrutiny and kept in the public view until Holder is forced from office.  His actions are not those of omission; they are intentional acts of commission.  Legal action should be taken against O-buma for his tacit approval of these outrages.  For far too long, the O-bumites have been able to act outside of the law with impunity.  The federal Constitution still contains the Supremacy Clause that establishes that document as the supreme law of the land.

What it does not say is that we were all created equal under the law, but some of us are more equal than others.  This is especially significant since laws and policies are applied unequally for arbitrary, capricious, and insignificant reasons such as melanin-positive skin or double x chromosomes.  This sordid affair is but another instance of the Corruptocrats purchasing votes from their permanent welfare constituency with the legal, social, economic, and political resources of others.

Once again, is there no act so low that they would be too embarrassed to be seen stooping to it?

Apparently, there is not.  The sham financial reform bill that the Theftocrats passed ignores the root cause of the recent economic meltdown, the welfare housing hustle perpetrated by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  The article points out that the bill allows the "government to seize and dismantle the assets of almost any company--and force others to pay for it."  This bill is standard procedure for the party-of-theft.

While on the topic of appalling duplicity, it is particularly distressing that members of the Supreme Court hold forth opinions rife with Orwellian deception.  Is this what is meant by the importance of being earnest?  The principle of stare decisis is only valid when it is politically expedient.

It is trying to suffer fools gladly.  It is particularly stressful when children suffer at the hands of selfish, greedy, and irresponsible adults.  Then, perhaps not all members of the national education collective's government unions can rightly be considered adults.  In New York, this is what a group of largely overpaid, under worked, and unaccountable guild members are actively trying to suppress.

They are desperate to hide how poorly their union efforts compare to the private enterprise education offered by their competitors in charter schools.  It is not that the children of minority parents cannot achieve.  The case is simply that in public schools, those students are pandered to and used as pawns to facilitate bloating the collective's bureaucracy while their academic lives are mostly ignored.

Speaking about unions and prevarication, this is an interesting exchange in which a self-proclaimed economist is arguing the official O-buma party line that less is more, that fewer jobs is really more jobs, and the porkulous taxpayer rape actually bettered the lives of taxpayers.

What the porkulous has actually done is to put more people onto the public payroll.  This article describes the preferred arrangements of Barack the Bureaucrat and his party-of-government cronies.

First the Subsidy, then the Take Over

Whether you approve of the news media exposing Richard Nixon for participating in the attempted cover up of the Watergate break in, Bill Clinton's preference for low rent floozies, or disapprove of both, be grateful--forget the biases for a moment--that media exists.  The alternative is TASS.  Remember the Tony Soprano Rule; they only offer the money to take over the operation.

Bear in mind that this is the theft-by-regulation crowd.  What a shock that they want to reinvent print media among some of the Loopy Left's most reliable supporters, US universities' journalism colleges.  Not only are universities factories of left wing propaganda and disinformation, they exist as secret societies.  The records of how and why they do things is protected by federal law that shields them from scrutiny.

Under federally imposed secrecy, in back door meetings of legislators, and through the oversight of unelected regulators, this is the O-bumites' latest attack on the First Amendment in the guise of strengthening the Fourth Estate. Together with the FCC's proposed takeover of the Web, sentient beings who value liberty should be concerned.

Another act of chicanery and sleight of hand political maneuvering is the Congressional Theftocrats' nationalizing (confiscating) 17% of the US economy through WelfareHealthCare.  This article should be read and its links followed by all who want the freedom to spend their own money and to choose for themselves how to prepare for the future.

This is an example of a federal program.  It provides welfare daycare; its clientèle are mostly unemployed welfare recipients.  It is a holdover from Lyndon Johnson's Great Welfare Society that has proved to be ineffective, fraudulent, and wasteful; however, it continues to receive tax dollars because it helps to maintain the size of the federal bureaucracy.  Understand that if a federal program continues to get funding, it is because government officials are benefiting from it.  Are you happy about the way that they spend your money?

May your gods be with you.
